I walked through the transition area to the run start, testing out my legs, which felt surprisingly good. MK and KB had moved over to the start of the run course. I was a little concerned about the run, I knew I could do the distance, but I was worried about making the time cut off. I knew that I needed no less than 3.5 hours. When I looked at my watch, all apprehension vanished, I had 4:03:00 to do the run, I could walk the entire thing if I needed to!
I can’t remember exactly what KB said to me, something about just having the run left and I replied with my standard comment for “easy” things “gravy baby!” I smiled and took off. T2 was a little faster at 7:16
