My workout today was pretty tough, but sorta fun. I had squats again and I improved my weight from last week, so I’ll take that as a win. The next exercises aren’t too bad by themselves, but all back-to-back…yea, my arms will never work right again…ever! I mean come on, who puts rowing, dumbbell presses, medicine ball slams, rope pulls and kettlebell swings all together? The answer…KB does. I should mention that there were some squats and sit-ups mixed in there too. Yea, did I mention my arms are totally trashed?
But I feel the best news of the day was the time I spent on the treadmill. It’s not uncommon for me to have a few minutes on the treadmill as a cool down, and I’ve been trying to do a little jogging, but my legs have protested vigorously. So on the advice of my many runner type friends I invested in new shoes and some compression socks. I’m pleased to say that they helped immensely. While I am still unable to jog for any real length of time, 3 minutes is a vast improvement over 30 seconds. (It’s also a long way from 3 hours)
I’ve decided to simplify the “new eating habits” thing. As I work on getting better with figuring out the right block mixes and matches I’ll lean pretty heavily on a bag of apples and oranges and some protein shakes during the day and start to integrate more options as I figure them out.
