I openly admit that I’m a big baby about needles, but I don’t think these really qualify as needles; they’re more like small garden hoses! I’ve come to the conclusion that the mad science behind these medieval forms of torture is to create so much pain and discomfort that then your pain level returns to where it started you think you feel better! OK, obviously that’s not true and in the end I do end up feeling much better, but I will continue to act like a three year old when I have to get these damn things!
Moving on! I at some point I also managed to reinjure my shoulder, you know, the one I just had surgically repaired! The pain was sharp and frequent. I was concerned that I had screwed up something we just fixed, so yet again I called on Doc, but he reassured me that I cannot damage anything he fixed. Now I suppose it’s possible to do more damage to the joint in some way, but we’re not going to think about that right now! I’ll take it easy and we’ll see if it calms down in a few days.
The next injury is the result of flat out stupidity. As strong as I am, trying to deadlift a 400lb generator with my brother when I already have a sketchy back was not my best move. By God we got that sucker in the back of my ridiculously lifted Jeep, but I paid for it…big time! Had the generator been the only thing we were lifting that day I might have been ok (probably not, but dreams are free) however my mom is having some renovations done that required us to relocate the entire kitchen and dining room. We moved everything from tables and chairs to the stove and the refrigerator. Booth of which were relocated down a flight of stairs! By the end of the day I had severe pain in my back the radiated down my back, across my ass and into my legs. I don’t have a medical degree of any kind, but common sense tells me this is bad!
While she never said it, I’m pretty sure KB was less than happy with me, I basically sent her messages every other day that basically started out the same way, “I’ve injured ____” However it’s not all bad news. The injection has helped my heal calm down and it’s not my Achilles tendon! My shoulder is starting to feel better; I just have to let it rest a little bit and my brother who is going to college to be a physical therapist gave me some stretches that have done wonders for my back. For those who really know me, this is a typical week; I am usually a physical train-wreck! But it’s all good…onward!!!
