20 seconds of ultra-intense (ultra-intense? Because sometimes intense just isn’t enough) exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated continuously for 4 minutes (8 cycles).
Now, multiply that by six different exercises and you have my workout for last night. Yes, I’m whining about it, only because I’m horrifically out of shape and it was “difficult”, yea, difficult, let’s go with that. Once I get into some kind of shape (other than round) I have a feeling I’ll greatly enjoy these workouts, but today…not so much. And most of what I did was lower body stuff, so for the life of me I can’t figure out why my shoulder hurts so damn bad today!
I’m pretty sure that Saturday’s workout will make this look like a walk in the park, I have a date with the rowing machine, which I’ve never used, so I’m not really sure how bad that’ll be and I don’t measure things in meters, so I have no frame of reference for 4000m.But I know full well that the 100 squats AFTER the rowing is going to be exciting!
Because my friend MK is well ahead of me in the training world she gives me valuable advice on my upcoming workouts, she has informed me that that I may require assistance standing up after this workout, she actually warned me that there is the possibility I could get stuck on the toilet! This is good to know as I can plan accordingly!!
I also made a comment to another friend of mine that I “get to swim tomorrow” he seemed to find this humorous, I’m not entirely sure why! Regardless of how badly I do these workouts there is some satisfaction that I can only get better and each day is one step closer to getting healthy and being able to better enjoy my absolutely blessed and insane life!
