In addition to my weight I have a laundry list of physical issues, everything from bad knees and arthritis, to the fact I’ve had two surgeries in the past three months to fix my heel and my shoulder. But I’m no stranger to the OR, I’ve had my knee, my hand, my leg and my foot all fixed in addition to my heel and shoulder. Good thing my Dr is one of my best friends! In fact his wife is my best friend, but I’ll get to all of them later.
Some of you may be wondering what in the hell I’m thinking, wanting to do a Triathlon (some days I’m right there with ya). Now if you’re a member of my family, or one of my close friends, you’re used to this sort of thing from me. I’ve done everything from playing semi-pro football for the Cleveland women’s team to running several Warrior Dashes and two Tough Mudders (running is a relative term) and of course I used to knock people out for fun (I kickboxed). I also played softball, weightlifted, cycled, did track, martial arts and played soccer. So being an athlete is not new to me, but like most people, the adult life just gets in the way. So while this is about doing a triathlon, it’s more about getting moving, getting healthy and having a lot of fun! And in case you’re wondering, no, I have no intention of trying to hit the ridiculous numbers on the height weight chart! BTW, did I mention I’m also registered for a ½ marathon?
More on that tomorrow!
